GTA 6 Pre-Load Starts November 10: Start Times, 212 GB File Size and New Screenshots
GTA 6 pre-loading opens on Tuesday, November 10, nine days before the game launches on November 19. On PS5 the download starts at midnight in your own time zone. On Xbox Series X|S it unlocks worldwide at the same moment, 12 a.m. GMT. Make room first: Rockstar says the files take up to 212 GB.
When can you pre-load GTA 6?
Both consoles open the pre-load on November 10, but not at the same time. PS5 rolls it out time zone by time zone. Xbox opens it everywhere at once at midnight GMT, which is still the evening of November 9 in the Americas.
| Platform | Pre-load opens | US Eastern | US Pacific |
|---|---|---|---|
| PS5 | Nov 10, 12:00 a.m. local time | Nov 10, 12:00 a.m. | Nov 10, 12:00 a.m. |
| Xbox Series X|S | Nov 10, 12:00 a.m. GMT | Nov 9, 7:00 p.m. | Nov 9, 4:00 p.m. |
Xbox times converted from GMT. US clocks have been on standard time since November 1.
The pre-load is for digital copies. Code-in-box versions, a download code sold in a retail box, should reach stores from November 12. Rockstar's Support site has the step-by-step pre-load instructions for both consoles.
How big is the GTA 6 download?
The pre-load needs up to 212 GB, depending on your console. Rockstar hasn't split that figure by platform. If your drive is close to full, clear the space before the window opens so the download can start right away.
What's in the GTA 6 launch gallery?
Rockstar posted a launch gallery of new screenshots on the official GTA 6 site on November 5. The shots cover Vice City and the rest of Leonida, the game's take on Florida, with a set built around Jason and Lucia, the two leads.
Before that, the launch trailer arrived on October 15, and Rockstar revealed the game's original score by Justice on October 29.
What else arrives on launch day?
On November 19, Rockstar adds a free printable GTA 6 cover art poster and a map of Leonida to the official site as a digital download. A double-sided physical poster follows shortly after launch at the Rockstar Store: $0.99 on its own, or free with any store purchase.
